Our First Field Trip of the Year
Hats on, water bottles filled, and two lines of very excited children heading out of the gate for the morning.
The first field trip of a school year is really a lesson in everything except the destination: lining up, holding a partner's hand, listening for your teacher's voice in a place that is not the classroom.
We spent the morning outdoors, ate an early lunch together, and were back at school before the afternoon heat. Several children fell asleep on the way home, which is usually the sign of a successful trip.
Thank you to the parents who came along to help. Having extra familiar adults nearby makes a considerable difference to the younger children, and we are grateful for it.
